This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you interact with our staffing services, client portal, or SMS notification program.
Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to provide staffing and employment placement services, including:

We collect this information directly from you through our employment planning process, which begins with an initial conversation and is followed by a structured planning meeting we call the Fit Map. These conversations may take place at our office, at partner facilities such as the Ingham County Jail reentry pod, or at Michigan Works locations.
How We Use Your Information
Your personal information is used exclusively for staffing and employment placement purposes, including:
- Matching you with suitable job opportunities with partner employers
- Issuing job referrals and tracking placement activity
- Processing payroll and maintaining timesheet records
- Sending SMS notifications related to job referrals, hour confirmations, and placement updates
- Communicating with you about your employment status
- Maintaining records as required by Michigan personnel agency regulations (MCL 339.1001 et seq.)
We do not use your information for marketing purposes unrelated to your employment placement.
SMS Notifications
Unlocked Staffing operates an SMS notification program to communicate employment-related information to active clients. Our relationship with each client begins through direct conversation — an initial meeting followed by a structured employment planning conversation called the Fit Map. At one of these two points, before any messages are ever sent, we explain every communication method Unlocked Staffing uses and give the client an explicit choice to opt in or opt out of each one, including SMS. Phone numbers are collected directly from the client at that time with their consent. Clients who opt out of SMS are never messaged.
Opting out of SMS will not affect your eligibility for staffing services. We may still contact you by phone or in person.
Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We share your information only as necessary to provide our services:
- Partner employers — name, contact information, and relevant employment history shared for job placement purposes with your knowledge
- Payroll processing — information required to process your W-2 wages through our payroll system
- Legal compliance — as required by Michigan law, court order, or regulatory requirement
- Service providers — technology vendors who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations (including our SMS provider, SignalWire, Inc.)
Information is never shared with parole or probation authorities, law enforcement, or immigration authorities unless required by a court order or legal process.
Data Security
We protect your personal information using industry-standard security measures including encrypted data storage, access controls limiting who can view your records, and secure record retention practices consistent with Michigan personnel agency regulations.
Physical records containing confidential information are stored in locked cabinets. Electronic records are maintained in a secured database accessible only to authorized Unlocked Staffing staff.

You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP
- Request a copy of your records as permitted under Michigan law
